The Magnificent Barista Boys story
Founder Stephan Brits started his coffee journey in 2006, working at one of Cape Town’s most renowned coffee companies. Here he developed in-depth knowledge into the complex coffee industry and was responsible for driving quality and consistency.
Stephan, also an award-winning barista, took his insights into artisan coffee and his passion for serving an excellent cup and perfected the company’s first roast. And so Magnificent Barista Boys started in 2013.
Kim Brits (Stephan’s wife) brought her flair for events and branding to the business, and soon the friendly team’s mobile barista offering became a firm favourite at local events.
After meeting the dynamic Brits duo, Francois Laurence joined the business as an investor and strategic business advisor. As a seasoned business owner, Francois recognised the unique offering they’ve developed through a refreshing customer-centred approach.
The team loves invoking a passion for coffee wherever they go and has been instrumental in growing the Western Cape’s qualified barista pool. They’ve equipped over 500 baristas with the necessary knowledge, technical proficiency and customer service skills, enabling them to have successful careers in hospitality.
Their ever-expanding product range is developed based on years of first-hand experience into what coffee-drinkers love the most. The cornerstone of the business is producing exceptional quality products that give clients a jolt of joy with every cup.
Driven by the passion that everyone should get to enjoy a good cup of coffee, their offering has grown to what it is now – events and workplace barista stations, serving a growing wholesale market and supplying @home stores nationwide.
